China’s motorcycle industry association issued a public proposal on June 13 calling on manufacturers, exporters, parts suppliers, and other industry participants to strengthen pricing discipline and avoid steep discounting and disorderly competition in domestic and overseas markets.

In a statement published on its official WeChat account, the China Motorcycle Chamber of Commerce urged companies to set prices and market strategies rationally, protect intellectual property, improve product quality, follow safety and compliance standards, and coordinate more closely across the supply chain.

The proposal also called for measures against copying, unauthorized use of core technology, counterfeit or imitation parts, and misuse of brand identifiers. It urged more orderly overseas operations, including avoiding disorganized low-price competition abroad and the export of refurbished used motorcycles and low-quality products.

The group said companies should focus on product upgrades, process optimization, independent research and development, and longer-term industry trends including electrification, higher-end products, and international expansion. According to the association, China exported 18.23 million motorcycles in 2025, making it the world’s largest motorcycle exporter.
