Welcome to FinNotes ("FinNotes", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, platform, newsletters, data pages, charts, content, features, and any related online services that link to these Terms (collectively, the "Service").
1. About FinNotes
The Service is designed to help readers access and review financial information in a clearer, more structured, and source-referenced format. FinNotes does not provide personalised investment advice, trading recommendations, financial planning, legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, or any other regulated professional service.
By using the Service you confirm that:
- you have read and understood these Terms;
- you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement;
- you are at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher.
2. Changes to the Service and to these Terms
We may update, amend, or replace these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice through the Service. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
FinNotes may modify, suspend, discontinue, limit, or replace any part of the Service at any time. This may include changes to content availability, data coverage, page structure, newsletters, account features, charting tools, research workflows, access levels, or technical functionality.
3. Content and information
The Service provides financial information, source-referenced materials, factual records, public data, market data, timelines, contextual background, and related information tools. The Service may include:
- real-time or near-real-time financial news;
- macroeconomic indicators and public economic releases;
- charts, tables, time series, and data visualisations;
- factual background and contextual links.
4. Not investment, financial, legal, or tax advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, legal advice, tax advice, accounting advice, or any other professional advice. Nothing on the Service is:
- a recommendation to follow any investment strategy;
- an offer to sell, or a solicitation of an offer to buy, any security, financial product, investment service, or other instrument;
- tailored to any particular reader's financial situation, objectives, or risk tolerance.
You agree that you are responsible for your own use of the Service and any decisions or actions you take based on information available through it. You should not rely on the Service as the sole basis for any financial, investment, trading, legal, tax, accounting, commercial, or professional decision.
5. Sources and accuracy
FinNotes places importance on source quality. We seek to rely on official, regulatory, market, company, and other recognised source materials that can be traced, reviewed, and cross-checked where appropriate. Source types include:
- official releases;
- company disclosures;
- market data sources;
- central bank, government, and statistical-agency materials;
- other market-relevant public records.
However, financial information may change, be corrected, be delayed, be incomplete, or be subject to differences in methodology, timing, reporting standards, or source availability. We do not guarantee that any content, data, filing reference, chart, source link, timeline, factual record, market price, exchange rate, yield, index level, company information, macroeconomic figure, or other information on the Service is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, final, or error-free.
6. Editorial use of AI
Some of our coverage is drafted with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools. Every piece on the Service is reviewed, fact-checked, and signed off by a named human editor before publication. See our AI use policy for the full standard.
7. Accounts, subscriptions, and quotas
Some features of the Service require an account. By creating an account you agree to provide accurate registration information and to maintain the security of your login credentials. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor (Stripe). Refunds are handled in accordance with consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
Free-tier reading remains open; quotas apply only to specific actions (such as data exports and the number of personal notes you can save). See the plans page for current limits.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation;
- circumvent technical access controls (for example, paywalls, quotas, or anti-scraping protections);
- scrape, mass-download, or systematically extract content other than as expressly permitted (search-engine crawling under our robots.txt policy is permitted);
- resell, sublicense, or republish substantial portions of the content without our prior written consent.
9. Intellectual property
All text, images, charts, design, code, and other materials available through the Service are the property of FinNotes or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. Personal, non-commercial reading and limited citation with attribution and a link back to the canonical URL is permitted.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinNotes and its officers, employees, agents, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including any reliance on its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FinNotes is incorporated, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Specific jurisdiction details will be added on platform launch.
