Fuel prices in Poland

Poland plans to end its fuel price-capping measures during the summer, according to Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The government has extended a reduced VAT rate and maximum fuel prices through the current period, while not prolonging a cut in excise duty on some fuels. A source cited by PAP said that from June 15 only the VAT reduction and the maximum price mechanism would remain in force. Tusk said the measures capping fuel prices would end in the summer and that prices would stabilize.

Separately, the United States and Iran have indicated that an agreement to end the conflict is close. Reports said the two sides had agreed on the wording of an accord aimed at ending the war, with a final deal expected within 24 hours.
